Tsunami swimmers are proud to represent their team throughout the Commonwealth and around the country in competition with Virginia Swimming and USA Swimming.
Tsunami Swimming kicked off the 2017-2018 season with a great showing at the Great Pumpkin Splash Invitational. Eleven swimmers placed in the top eight during the meet, held on October 14-15 at the Jeff Rouse Swim and Sport Center.
Samuel Valasko placed in the top eight in all four of his races, including second and third place finishs. Annie Furrow also placed in four races, twice finishing in third place. Ciara Graves set a new team record in the 100 IM. Congratulations to them and all of our swimmers on a great opening meet for the season!
The Tsunami swimmers set several new records during the 2016-2017 short course season, including 8 new relay records and over 20 new individual records. Anna Slominski achieved a noteworthy eight new team records, followed closely by both Charlotte Denecke and Ryan McOsker with five each. Anna Slominski represented Tsunami Swimming at the 2017 EZ Southern Region Speedo Championships Series at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center on Mar 30-April 2, 2017. She qualified for four events and achieved AA or AAA times in each one. Congratulations on a great meet!
Tsunami Swimming sent three swimmers to the 2017 VSI SC Age Group Championships on March 9-12, 2017, at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center. All swimmers must qualify for these events based on past performances.

Two Tsunami swimmers participated in the individual swimming portion of the 2017 VA SC SR Champtionships on March 2-5. Anna Slominski set two new team records and Abigal Cook improved on her 100 yard backstroke time. Go Tsunami Swimming!
Tsunami participated in the Northern Region 13 and Older Championships from February 24-26, 2017. We sent 13 swimmers and had great results. Anna Slominski had two finishes in the top three, including one win. She also set three new team records. Congratulations to her and to all of our participants!
